Okinawa Hiking Trail: The Green Mile
WALKIN' THE MILE... WALKIN' THE GREEN MILE...

The Green Mile hiking / walking trail

I mean, literally, walking the green mile, in my bare feet, 222 meters (728 feet) above sea level, high above OKUMA.

Yup, there's lots of weird stuff up in "them thar hills"!

The trail wraps around, completely flat, and well maintained

This grassy, mile-long mountain hiking loop is also great for pregnant Moms who want to walk in the mountain air, have kids in strollers, or have some wild children with them who need to burn off some energy out in the middle of absolutely nowhere!

A great Okinawa hiking trail for kids to burn off some energy in the middle of nowhere

Next time you are up at Okuma, try walkin' the GREEN MILE—around and around and around—even in your bare feet!

Are there poisonous snakes there ?
Most likely lurking in the woods. Stay on the path and you ought to be fine. One possibility is that one may only cross your way, but let it do its thing and don't antagonize it. It'll be gone pretty quick.

You should remain mindful of habu here, and how to treat a bite, but I've never seen one.
