A BAZILLION PEOPLE at the LAST TUG-OF-WAR in NAHA CITY before OKINAWA'S REVERSION TO JAPAN.

Another "Used Bookstore Find", this is the full wrap-around cover of the FEB 1972 issue of SHUREI NO HIKARI magazine. This photo was taken a few months earlier in Autumn 1971. Wrap-around covers were rare for this magazine, but I've seen a few of them. The USA officially handed Okinawa back to Japan on May 15th, 1972.
