Sam's By-The-Sea near the airport in Naha City?

I passed by today, and usually pass up their $40 steak and lobster plates, as we eat like that once in a blue moon. Though, today, something caught my eye.

Bento boxes packed with the great steak one would expect there, topped off with a heap of shrimp and some rice and veggies on the side for 1100 yen. I couldn't pass up that deal! ?

To me, being prior food service, it seems to me as if they're clearing out their fridges as opposed to continuing on offering deals like this as it somewhat tarnishes a brand. Or, perhaps, they do have the community at heart, retaining employees, and people will remember them for that and offering great food at a reasonable price.

All I know is this is an amazing deal. A little heavy on the pepper, but still good nonetheless.

If you live near a Sam's or Maui steak house (I believe they're both the same 'chain'), you should swing by to see if they're offering bento boxes too.

We'll gather more info on these offerings at other locations as the price is just right for takeout!

So in other words this deal just fell in your lap! my guess is their fridges needed to be emptied cause they have a lot of meat and instead of losing money on spoiled meat they decided to make fun with it and create bento's. I have seen Izakaya's outdoors grilling yakatori and other menu foods at cheap deals as well because their meat is going bad so they have to get rid of it and they don't want to lose money so they are grilling outside their businesses and people are jumping on it and it is a great idea. How do i know this you ask? LOL i got my wife to speak japanese to them and ask why their doing it. Hey we stopped at an Izakaya near us and got cups full of yakatori 10 sticks for 500 yen. It's really a shame these guys have to do this but looks like their having fun though, as people walk by and people in cars stopping roadside getting this.
( Also Bob he's the Operator or Manager of all SAM'S restaurants island wide, HE HATES TO LOSE MONEY!) True fact plus i know him. And no he doesn't give discounts for people he knows LOL ) Not sure if he's still the boss i haven't spoke to him in about 2 years. Good find Dave! (y)

This was my guess as well. The deal was too good to be true, I couldn't pass it up—or pass by, rather. They're most likely just emptying the fridges into bento boxes for some profit as opposed to disposing of it in the trash.
