INFO AU cellphone outage

The news reported that there had been a country-wide cellphone outage for KDDI AU and discount carriers that began from around 0135 on July 2nd. It looks like a bit over 30 million people were or are still affected, me being one of them still at 1700.

I'm fine now that I'm at my home with a stable internet connection, but it was intermittent data (5G) outages while I was running errands for about an hour. Also, I'm still unable to call and presumably use SMS though.

I hope that everyone in Japan was okay during this time as I'm unsure whether emergency services were affected.

My phone is still acting up nearly 3 hours later!

I wonder what the explanation of this is going to be...
