Sango Batake is a nice stopover while you are in the area, maybe checking out Yomitan Gala or one of the other things nearby. It would probably take you about 30 minutes to walk through there and the nice jetty out front. The folks that run it seem very committed, and I support their mission of restoring coral reefs. It is also something different to see and actually learn something about the situation of the coral surrounding Okinawa.
Please note that during the coronavirus, they have closed the facility to visitors. So it would be good to call ahead to make sure they are open if you want to stop by.
